There’s a lot of love for the Bronco in the UK (even if Ford is insistent that it’s not going to make it to these shores) so our friends at ExtremeTerrain.com have got hold of one and put it up against the Jeep Wrangler in its latest video. Are we missing out, or is the Wrangler still the top dog for rugged off-roading?

Shot on location at Rausch Creek Off-Road Park in Pennsylvania, the demanding twin test video (that you can see below) follows on from the company’s deep-dive walkaround video on the Bronco.

Hosted by Justin Dugan, with help from ExtremeTerrain’s Jay Te’o-Mitchell, the pair test drive each vehicle over various obstacles with observations and their customary banter along the way.

Both the Bronco and Jeep Wrangler are essentially bone stock except for 33-inch all-terrain tyres, but they won’t stay that way for long.

“Today we’re going to keep things pretty tame overall we don’t want to bang these things up too much but believe me when I tell you this is the first of many battles with these things. We’re going to build them up we’re going to come back out here and really go for some gnarly stuff,” explains Justin.

After reviewing the stats on the Bronco and Wrangler, the vehicles are put to the test, beginning with a trail ride and turn, followed by a camel hump and finally a rock crawl.

The video, the latest in the ExtemeTerrain.com ‘Throttle Out’ series, pits a Ford Bronco Big Bend up against a Jeep Wrangler Sahara to see which one holds up better during the off-roading excursion. Viewers will learn the strengths and weaknesses of each vehicle with expectations and insights offered up by ExtremeTerrain’s off-road experts.
