Volkswagen has opened order books for the all-electric e-Transporter Kombi for the first time, expanding the new Transporter line-up with a zero-emission option aimed at operators who need both passenger seating and load flexibility.

Priced from £43,315 before charges, VAT, and the government’s Plug-in Van Grant, the e-Transporter Kombi joins the recently launched diesel versions and the existing electric Panel Van, giving buyers more choice as Volkswagen rolls out the latest generation of its mid-size van.

The BEV Kombi is available in both short- and long-wheelbase forms, with five seats fitted as standard and the option to add a sixth.

Power comes from a 65kWh lithium-ion battery, delivering a WLTP range of up to 196 miles. Volkswagen says the electric Kombi retains the practical focus expected of the model, offering a payload of up to 896kg alongside its dual-purpose layout, making it suitable for tradespeople and businesses that need to carry both crew and equipment.

As standard, the electric Kombi is offered in the Commerce Plus specification, building on the diesel model with EV-specific additions, including a heat pump, an electric auxiliary heater, and a three-phase Type 2 charging cable. The inclusion of a heat pump, in particular, is notable, helping preserve real-world range in colder conditions. A Commerce Pro version is also available, adding further comfort, driver assistance and convenience features for operators covering higher mileages or using the van as a mobile workspace.

All-electric e-Transporter Kombi customers benefit from Volkswagen’s 5+ Promise at no extra cost, covering three services, three MOTs, a five-year warranty and five years of roadside assistance, adding a degree of long-term cost certainty for fleets and owner-operators.
