Volkswagen has revealed UK prices and specifications for the new Transporter van, with order books now open. The seventh-generation model starts at £30,995 for the diesel-powered models, while the fully electric BEV version comes in at £41,965.
Customers will have a choice of three diesel and two electric powertrains, with a plug-in hybrid (called eHybrid) model expected in 2026. The van will also be offered in multiple body styles, including the standard panel van, Kombi, Shuttle, and double-cab chassis. Both short- and long-wheelbase configurations will also be available.
Volkswagen’s new Transporter promises a step up in practicality from the outgoing model. Based on the Ford Transit Custom, the van boasts a maximum payload of 1.33 tonnes — a 130kg increase over its predecessor — and can tow up to 2.8 tonnes. Interior stowage volume has also been improved, growing by 10% to 5.8m3.
The cab has been redesigned with a focus on professional users, combining digital interfaces with tactile hard keys for durability. Standard features include a 13-inch infotainment display, a 12-inch digital driver’s display, and USB-C and USB-A ports. Electric and hybrid models can be fitted with up to three 230V sockets, along with a 12V outlet in the D-pillar for added utility.
Safety systems such as Lane Assist, Dynamic Road Sign Display, and a wrong-way driver warning system are also included as standard across the range.

Three Trim Levels
UK buyers will have three trim options: Commerce, Commerce Plus, and Commerce Pro. The entry-level Commerce trim includes 16-inch steel wheels, LED headlights, heated door mirrors, manually adjustable seats with lumbar support, rear parking sensors, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, DAB radio, keyless start, and predictive cruise control.
The mid-tier Commerce Plus trim adds body-coloured bumpers, front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, and an anti-theft alarm system. Inside, the trim introduces a leatherette-wrapped steering wheel and additional comfort-focused features.
At the top of the range, the Commerce Pro trim offers even more luxury and advanced technology. Highlights include 16-inch alloy wheels, power-folding heated mirrors, heated seats, air conditioning, adaptive cruise control with Traffic Jam Assist (on automatic variants), wireless charging pad, heat-reflecting laminated windshield, and extra bright LED lights in the load bay.
For electric models, the Commerce Pro BEV trim includes features such as a heated steering wheel, a heat pump, and all-season tyres.

Volkswagen Transporter: Pricing and Availability
First deliveries of the Transporter panel van are expected in April, with order books now open for pre-orders. Kombi and Shuttle variants will follow in Spring 2025, while double-cab versions will join the range in late 2025. All variants are available as either standard or long wheelbase, in a choice of three highly-specified trims – Commerce, Commerce Plus and Commerce Pro.
Prices start from £30,995 for the Commerce SWB van with a 2.0-litre 110hp engine and six-speed manual gearbox — undercutting the Transit Custom. The initial range tops out at £45,015 for an electric Commerce Pro LWB model, powered by a 136hp motor.
All new Transporter models come with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ 5+ Promise Warranty and Service plan. This package includes five scheduled services, five years of warranty coverage, and five years of roadside assistance.
