KGM will use this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show to present the new Musso EV to the public, and has taken the opportunity to confirm UK pricing and grant eligibility ahead of the pickup’s arrival.

The electric Musso EV will be priced at £39,995 including VAT, and taking into account the government’s £5,000 Plug-in Van Grant. With a payload of less than a tonne, the vehicle is considered a car by HMRC, which could make it more difficult to reclaim the VAT element.

However, the Musso EV’s tax position for company car drivers is clear, with the pickup attracting a 4% Benefit-in-Kind rate for 2026/27, which should make it particularly attractive to users looking to keep monthly tax costs down.

Under the skin, the Musso EV uses an 80.6kWh LFP battery, with KGM quoting a range of up to 240 miles. DC charging from 20% to 80% is claimed to take 31 minutes.

As ever with an electric pickup, the bigger question is not just range but working capability. KGM says the Musso EV offers a 690kg payload and 2.3-tonne towing capacity, along with full-time four-wheel drive, 207hp and 339Nm of torque. Rear suspension is load-sensitive and self-levelling.

That means it will not match the heaviest-duty diesel pickups on payload or towing, but KGM is clearly betting that there is a market for buyers who want pickup practicality, low running costs and a much more favourable tax position than many diesel alternatives can now offer.

Our KGM Musso EV review highlighted that, for the right buyer — particularly those operating on site in towns or cities, or for mixed business-and-leisure roles — it’s a convincing electric pickup. It’s not a replacement for a diesel workhorse, but it is a credible new direction for the segment.

The Musso EV is available to order now, with the first demonstrator vehicles due to reach dealers in May.

Alongside the new EV, KGM will also display the Musso Saracen and Rexton Commercial on its CV ShowExternal link image stand, giving visitors a look at both its electric and diesel commercial offerings.
