JAC Motors has confirmed at this week’s IAA Show in Hanover that its all-electric T9 EV pickup is ready for European delivery. As the first 4×4 mid-size electric pickup available in the region, the T9 EV combines utility-focused features with electric power, targeting drivers looking for a practical workhorse with zero local emissions.

The T9 EV is powered by a dual-motor setup, delivering 230kW (308hp) and 515Nm of torque. It uses an 88kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, which provides a range of more than 210 miles on the WLTP cycle. Charging options include DC fast charging, enabling a 30% to 80% recharge in around 35 minutes, and standard AC charging.

Designed with utility in mind, the T9 EV offers a payload capacity of 910kg, making it a difficult vehicle to sell to UK businesses as it falls short of the one-tonne threshold for easy VAT reclamation. Pleasingly, for an electric pickup, it can tow up to 2,000kg. The truck’s battery warranty of up to eight years or 250,000 miles highlights a focus on durability.

The exterior design includes LED headlights, bi-colour 18-inch alloy wheels, and a bold grille. These features include an interior with a 10.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, and SUV-style trims. Comfort features like heated seats and wireless charging enhance the cabin’s usability.

Safety features include six airbags, a 360-degree camera system, and driver aids such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist. Built on the same platform as JAC’s T6 and T8 models, the T9 EV also benefits from a reinforced frame for improved rigidity.
