New KGM Musso pickup teased ahead of 2026 launch • Professional Pickup

KGM has offered the first official glimpse of its next-generation Musso pickup, with a corporate video confirming for the first time that the new 2026 model is on the way..

The teaser clip is light on technical detail, instead focusing on brand values and philosophy, but it includes fleeting shots of the forthcoming truck. While the cab and door frames appear familiar, suggesting a heavy refresh of the current Musso rather than a clean-sheet redesign, the styling has been brought firmly up to date.

At the front, the new Musso adopts a bold fascia with a segmented light bar and distinctive daytime running lights, drawing clear inspiration from rivals such as the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux. Chunky bumpers, heavy sill cladding, and a fresh set of alloy wheels add to the tougher look, while unusual details, including what appear to be reflectors set into the wheel arches, hint at KGM’s desire to make the Musso stand out in a crowded market that’s getting busier.

The rear borrows from the design of the smaller Musso EV, featuring vertical LED tail-lights and large KGM lettering stamped across the tailgate. While they might share some styling cues, the Musso EV is a compact lifestyle pickup, unlikely to suit demanding commercial roles like farming. In contrast, the full-size Musso will retain the workhorse capabilities of the current model, such as a one-tonne payload and 3.5-tonne towing capacity.

The truck is due in the UK in 2026, and diesel power will remain on the menu, setting it apart from the Musso EV and ensuring KGM (previously known as SsangYong) retains an option for buyers not yet ready to transition to electric.

Full specifications on payload, towing and drivetrains are still to come, but the early signs point to a more assertive and upmarket approach.

We’re a long way off the pickup arriving on these shores, so there’s no talk about pricing, either. However, expect a rise over the current model, with our best guess putting the starting price at around £35,000 plus VAT, rising to £40,000 for higher grades.
