Volkswagen is expanding its ‘Try Before You Buy’ offer, allowing customers to enjoy a week-long trial of the California 6.1 campervan from just £999, with the ID Buzz and ID Buzz Cargo van joining the programme shortly.

The programme currently allows potential buyers to trial the Caddy California — a very compact camper — for a week, allowing families and businesses to see if the vehicle suits their needs.

The addition of the California 6.1 and ID Buzz, in both passenger and Cargo van versions, will give more customers the opportunity to put a vehicle through its paces before committing.

Volkswagen ID Buzz available on Try Before You Buy package

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ Try Before You Buy package for the California 6.1 means customers pay £999 to borrow the vehicle for seven days. If they then purchase the vehicle, the full cost is refunded when the order is placed. Those wanting to experience the Caddy California before spending tens of thousands can make use of the programme for £499.

With 63% of drivers stating they would prefer longer, unaccompanied test drives to better inform purchasing decisions, Volkswagen is going further and giving customers the opportunity to live with the vehicle and better understand if it suits their needs.

In the case of ID Buzz and ID Buzz Cargo, ‘Try Before You Buy’ gives customers the chance to try out an electric vehicle for a whole week. Switching to electric can be daunting, but Volkswagen hopes that by offering an extended test, customers will feel empowered to make the right decision.

Offering fully-connected infotainment systems, plenty of space and driver assistance systems, and an all-electric range of up to 256 miles, Volkswagen promises that the ID Buzz range provides sustainable mobility for practically every purpose.
