Isuzu has launched the latest version of its D-Max Arctic Trucks AT35, with sales beginning this month. The flagship pickup, priced from £57,005 CVOTR, is available exclusively in double-cab automatic form and retains full commercial vehicle classification for VAT and VED purposes.
Developed in collaboration with Arctic Trucks, the AT35 builds on the standard D-Max platform with several modifications aimed at improving off-road capability while maintaining a 1-tonne payload and 3.5-tonne towing capacity. Key upgrades include 35-inch BFGoodrich KO2 tyres, Bilstein performance suspension with a 40mm lift, and a strengthened chassis and bodywork.
Power comes from Isuzu’s familiar 1.9-litre diesel engine, producing 164hp and 360Nm of torque, all going through a six-speed automatic transmission. A rear diff-lock, shift-on-the-fly 4WD, and Rough Terrain Mode are all included to support use on challenging ground.
Despite the aggressive off-road enhancements, Isuzu has kept an eye on on-road usability. The wider track and larger tyres aim to boost stability, and a range of standard safety tech has been added. These include adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic braking, and traffic jam assist, alongside Isuzu’s full suite of advanced driver assistance features.
Externally, the AT35 features widened wheel arches, bespoke Arctic Trucks alloy wheels, and extended-profile side steps. A rear multifunction receiver hitch allows for additional equipment such as steps, winches, or gear carriers to be fitted.
Inside, the double-cab model includes leather upholstery, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and a 9.0-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An eight-speaker sound system, wireless phone charging, and a digital driver display complete the tech offering.
The AT35 is available in a choice of eight colours, with Splash White offered as standard. Other finishes incur an additional charge. Buyers receive a bespoke user manual, conformity certificate, and Arctic Trucks accessories including floor mats and a torque wrench.
Commercial users will note that the AT35’s retained commercial classification means it qualifies for fixed-rate road tax of £345 and allows for full VAT reclaim, potentially offering running cost savings compared to non-commercial pickups or SUVs.
