Stellantis is helping van drivers switch to electric power with a £2,500 incentive on its range of small and medium electric vans, which includes models from Citroen, Fiat, Peugeot and Vauxhall. This is on top of government support that can be worth up to £5,000, meaning buyers can save up to £7,500 off a new electric van.

The offer also includes the installation of a free home charging wall box (subject to some terms and conditions) and £400 credit on an Octopus Electriverse card that, optimistically, can cover the cost of 2,500 miles of motoring.

“With zero-emissions-in-use, a refined driving experience and exemption from current congestion and emissions zone charges, electric vans offer fantastic benefits, particularly for drivers operating in urban areas,” explains Tony Lewis, LCV director at Stellantis UK. “The Stellantis e-LCV Grant is designed to provide an all-round package for electric van drivers, making it even more attractive for fleets and businesses looking to go electric.”

With its comprehensive electric range, including the UK’s best-selling electric van, the Vauxhall Vivaro Electric, the Stellantis range accounts for more than half of all electric van sales. According to figures from the Society of Motoring Manufacturers and Traders, the range of e-LCVs from Citroen, Fiat, Peugeot, and Vauxhall have taken 54.3% of registrations this year, with the Vivaro Electric making up more than a quarter of total electric van sales.

The catch? In fairness to Stellantis, there are very few. The offer applies to stock vehicles only, runs until the end of the year, and excludes the range of large electric vans. That means the offer applies to the Citroen e-Berlingo and e-Dispatch, Fiat E-Doblo and E-Scudo, Peugeot e-Partner and e-Expert, and the Vauxhall Combo Electric and Vivaro Electric. The free home wall box, supplied by Ohme or Free2Move eSolutions, is managed by Octopus, with customers also able to benefit from an optional Octopus energy tariff. If a customer already has a wall box installed, they will instead receive a further £750+VAT deposit contribution towards their new van. Any unusual installation will attract charges.

Pleasingly, the Stellantis offer is available on all purchase and lease options, including outright purchase, conditional sale/hire purchase, finance lease or business contract hire through Leasys.
