Rushlift expands fleet with 55 specially-converted Volkswagen Crafter vans

Materials handling supplier Rushlift has added 55 new Volkswagen Crafter vans to its UK fleet, each one kitted out with bespoke conversions to support its nationwide team of Field Service Engineers.

The Crafters – the largest vans in Volkswagen’s line-up – have been fitted with tailored racking systems, a 350-watt inverter, and integrated workbenches to turn each vehicle into a mobile workshop. The additions are designed to help engineers carry out on-site maintenance and repairs across the country with greater efficiency.

This delivery is the start of a wider fleet renewal programme for Rushlift, as the company continues to scale up support for its growing customer base.

“This marks an important step in supporting our growing customer base across the UK,” said Alina Sirghi, fleet controller at Rushlift. “These vehicles not only enhance the reliability and efficiency of our service operations, but also reflect our commitment to equipping our engineers with the best possible tools for the job.”

The latest Crafter vans boast a load space of up to 18.4 cubic metres and a payload capacity of 2.4 tonnes, with a maximum internal load height of 2,196mm. They’ve also recently been updated with new driver assistance systems, including a redesigned dashboard with a 10.4-inch display, integrated eSIM, and access to Volkswagen’s We Connect mobile services.
