The next-generation Ford Ranger is getting closer to UK shores, with prices starting from £39,350 plus VAT – a 9% rise over the current model.
That will get you a Ranger fitted with a 2.0-litre diesel engine. Developing 204hp and 500Nm of torque, and equipped with a 10-speed automatic gearbox, economy of 32.1mpg is promised.
For an additional £1,400 plus VAT, taking the total to £40,750, buyers can upgrade to the new 3.0-litre V6 diesel model. The larger capacity engine produces 240hp, with a torque output of 600Nm. In line with the increased performance, economy drops to 28mpg, according to official WLTP testing.
While prices have been released, there’s no prospect of getting delivery of a new Ford Ranger any time soon. The Ranger Raptor will be the first model to arrive, although buyers will need to find £57,340 (inc VAT) for one of those, with the everyday Wildtrak models coming in 2023.

Only the Wildtrak model will be available initially, and only in double-cab form. Further models will be added to the range in due course, with the Wildtrak and Raptor being joined by lower specification models and commercially appealing variants.
The new Ford Ranger, built at Ford’s Silverton plant in South Africa, has seen most of its development carried out in Australia. The manufacturer has also partnered with Volkswagen
and will build the new Amarok pickup alongside the Ranger.
