Volkswagen has delivered its 100th specially-converted Crafter van to tyre-fitting and breakdown recovery firm, Lodge Tyre Co Ltd, a family-owned company that specialises in 24/7 breakdown cover and supplying commercial tyres.
The latest batch of Volkswagen Crafters ordered by Lodge Tyre Co, supplied by West Yorkshire Van Centre as part of a renewed fleet deal, features specialised air compressors and customised racking and livery.

Operating across the UK, Lodge Tyre Co offers a mobile service to ensure vans and trucks are kept on the road all year round.
The Volkswagen Crafters were chosen due to their competitive pricing, large load space and the ability to add the specialised air compressor conversion onto the engine. The Crafter range offers a load volume from 9.3 to 18.4m3 and provides a flexible basis for tailored conversions.
Andy Wills, Group Fleet Manager for Lodge Tyre Co Ltd., said: “Since we bought our first fleet of Volkswagen vans in 2019, the vans have coped with everything we have thrown at them and managed the workload extremely well. With competitive pricing, bespoke conversions and such a strong aftersales offering, it has been an easy decision to bolster our fleet with more Crafters.”

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles extended its opening hours in 2017 across its network of Van Centres, delivering on its Working With You brand promise. This offers more flexibility to customers and minimises downtime by accommodating owners’ needs depending on business requirements.
Volkswagen also offers a range of conversion options alongside its Recognised Partners, which provides customers with an extended range of off-the-shelf or bespoke conversions while guaranteeing the quality of products supplied directly through the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles network.
Claire English, Head of Fleet for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, added: “We are delighted that Lodge Tyre Co Ltd. has bolstered its fleet with yet more Crafters. The award-winning Crafter is an excellent workhorse for businesses across the UK and the bespoke air compressor conversion for these vans sets them apart from the rest.
“As a brand, we take great pride in our comprehensive aftersales offering so we are very pleased to hear that this was a determining factor in the decision, too. We look forward to continuing to work with the business and deliver reliable vans.”
