Iveco has unveiled the results of its collaboration with Hyundai, showcasing the eMoovy at the IAA Show in Hanover, Iveco’s first battery electric vehicle (BEV) in the mid-size chassis cab segment, targeting the 2.5 to 3.5-tonne weight range.
The first electric vehicle of the partnership focuses on advancing carbon-neutral mobility, with the eMoovy following previous joint projects like the eDaily Fuel Cell and the E-Way FCEV city bus.
Designed for versatility and high performance in urban environments, and based on the Hyundai ST1, the eMoovy accommodates various body types and offers a cargo volume of up to 10m3 with a payload capacity of 1.5 tonnes.
The 160kW (215hp) electric motor provides 350Nm of torque, which is competitive in the electric LCV market. Power comes from one of two battery pack options with capacities of 76kWh or 63kWh, the larger pack offering a promised range of 199 miles.
The eMoovy supports ultra-fast charging up to 350kW, adding 100 kilometres (62 miles) of range in under ten minutes when connected to s suitable charger. It also offers AC charging for overnight top-ups.
Vehicle to Load capability will also be available, allowing users to power equipment, such as refrigeration units, from the drive battery.
Based on Hyundai’s Staria MPV, the cab focuses on driver comfort with heated and ventilated eco-leather seats, a heated steering wheel, and intuitive displays, including a 12.3-inch digital cluster and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen. Driver safety is looked after with the inclusion of adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and forward collision avoidance assist, ensuring the vehicle meets forthcoming safety regulations.

Iveco’s eCharge card, providing access to over 700,000 public charging points across Europe, will be part of the eMoovy ecosystem. Launching in Germany, drivers will be able to manage charging and vehicle settings through the Easy eMoovy app, while fleet managers can track vehicle status and performance via the Iveco On portal.
