Isuzu has used the Commercial Vehicle Show 2026 to launch the new D-Max EV in the UK, with the electric pickup making its first appearance in right-hand drive ahead of customer deliveries starting in May.
The big selling point is straightforward enough: The D-Max EV is the first fully electric pickup in the UK to offer more than a one-tonne payload, 3.5-tonne towing capacity and permanent four-wheel drive.
Power comes from a 66.9kWh battery and dual-motor setup, with one motor on each axle. Total output is 149.3kW (203hp) and 347Nm of torque, while the official WLTP combined range is quoted at 163 miles. Stick to the city, and the range, under WLTP test conditions, extends to 224 miles. More potent than the diesel-powered model, the D-Max EV will reach 62mph in 10.1 seconds and has a top speed of more than 80mph.
Charging rates are rather limited, with rapid charging only possible up to 50kW, meaning a 2 –80% charge will take around. Home or depot charging at up to 11kW allows for a full charge in six hours.
As with the diesel D-Max, Isuzu is pushing the electric model’s working credentials hard. The D-Max EV uses a strengthened ladder chassis and introduces a new De-Dion semi-independent rear suspension setup, which Isuzu says improves ride quality and refinement while still supporting heavy loads. Maximum payload is listed at 1,060kg, while maximum towing limits remain at 3,500kg.
Off-road ability remains part of the package, too. The D-Max EV gets Rough Terrain Mode, 210mm of ground clearance — a drop of around 15mm over the diesel-powered D-Max — along with 600mm wading depth (down from 800mm), and approach and departure angles of 30.5 and 24.2 degrees respectively.
The electric D-Max will be offered in Extended Cab and Double Cab forms, in eDL40 and eV-Cross trim levels. Standard equipment includes heated seats, dual-zone climate control, parking sensors, Bi-LED headlights and a 7.0-inch driver display, with the eV-Cross gaining a 9.0-inch infotainment system and darker exterior styling.
Pricing starts at £59,995 ex VAT for the Extended Cab eDL40, rising to £60,995 for the Double Cab eDL40 and £62,495 for the range-topping D-Max EV Double Cab eV-Cross.

The new model comes with an eight-year, 125,000-mile battery warranty, alongside a five-year, 125,000-mile vehicle warranty and roadside assistance.
