Isuzu celebrates young farming talent at British Farming Awards • Professional Pickup

Isuzu has once again backed the British Farming Awards, sponsoring the Farm Worker of the Year category for the eighth year running. The award recognises individuals who go above and beyond in supporting Britain’s agricultural sector.

This year’s winner was 22-year-old Takara Comrie from Limestone Farming Company in Lincolnshire. Managing a 1,200-hectare farm and pedigree Stabiliser suckler herd, Comrie has earned praise for her leadership, dedication, and attention to herd health.

When the unit’s head stockman fell ill, she stepped up to lead the livestock team, taking charge of bedding, feeding, calving, and weaning, as well as handling health testing and records. Her proactive approach helped safeguard the herd during a difficult season of staff shortages and unpredictable weather.

“I’m not from farming, so even to be here is great, but to win is amazing,” Comrie said on receiving her award. “I didn’t think I’d ever win.”
