The Citroen Berlingo was the UK’s best-selling compact van in 2023, with 14,065 vehicles finding new homes throughout the year.

A huge increase in registrations saw the Berlingo account for more than half of Citroen LCV sales for 2023, with the brand registering 27,382 vehicles in total, according to figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. With Berlingo sales more than doubling against 2022, Citroen LCV sales increased by 38% over the previous year.

Parent company Stellantis, whose brands include Fiat, Peugeot and Vauxhall, increased its market share to 27.2%, making it the second best-selling brand when all variants are combined, with 94,978 registrations. The Vauxhall Vivaro Electric ended the year as the best-selling electric van, giving Stellantis the top spot in two areas.

Stellantis Pro One was the second best-selling LCV manufacturing group in the UK in 2023, selling a combined 94,978 vehicles, up 27% compared to 2022.

Citroen has recently revised the Berlingo van, updating its styling and onboard technology, and improving driving practicality of its electric versions.
