Renault recently detailed its updates for the Master E-Tech van, installing a new 52kWh battery pack for extended range, and has now announced pricing and specifications for the pure-electric medium van.

Replacing a 33kWh battery pack, the new 52kWh setup allows the Master E-Tech to run for as far as 126 miles, according to official WLTP testing. That’s an increase of 68% over the outgoing model, boosting the appeal of the Master to a greater number of companies and drivers.

The Renault Master E-Tech features a 76hp electric motor suited to urban and semi-urban driving, making the van a candidate for last-mile deliveries. To improve range, an Eco mode limits maximum power and speed. An adaptive regenerative brake system maximises the amount of recovered energy regardless of the selected braking regime, and low resistance tyres ensure drivers can extract the maximum range from the larger battery pack.

Recharging can be carried out via a 7.4kW home or workplace charging unit, which will take five hours to reach 80% charge. Faster charging is available using the onboard 22kW charging unit, allowing for rapid charging at public facilities. Using a suitable 22kW charger, 30 miles of range can be added to the vehicle in 45 minutes, with the battery able to be topped up from 20% to 80% charge in 90 minutes.

Renault Master E-Tech: Trim Levels

Panel Van versions are available exclusively with the new Advance level of trim, while the Platform Cab and Chassis Cab variants feature the entry-level Start specification.

Every model receives a short list of essential equipment, ranging from a DAB radio with Bluetooth connectivity and manual air conditioning to a height-adjustable driver’s seat and steering wheel and a passenger bench seat. You’ll also find two cup holders in the centre console, an overhead parcel shelf, and a steel bulkhead.

Safety-related technology includes hill start assist, trailer swing assist, and electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors.

Advance specification models gain extra kit, including safety gear such as rear parking sensors, automatic headlights and wipers, side wind assist and wide view mirrors.

Unique in the sector, Advance trim also includes a full suspension seat for the driver. The passenger bench seat also incorporates a pivoting seatback table with a dual split under-seat storage compartment.

Renault Master E-Tech: Payload and Towing

E-Tech customers will benefit from the traditional versatility and practicality of the Master. Five versions are available, including Panel Van, Chassis Cab and Platform Cab, with the Panel Van offering a payload of up to 1,420kg and a load volume of up to 13m3.

Those specifying Advance trim models will also receive a rear running board, handles, and multiple anchorage points: eight for short wheelbase models and 10 for medium and long wheelbase vehicles.

Towing is something to avoid with the Master E-Tech, as there’s no approved limit, so towing isn’t permissible.
