KGM has confirmed that its next-generation pickup will carry the Musso name, releasing the first official exterior images of the model previously known by its internal project code, Q300.
Due to arrive in the UK in 2026, the new Musso will sit at the top of KGM’s pickup line-up and act as the flagship model for the brand’s recently unified Musso pickup range. While full technical specifications are still under wraps, the newly released images give the clearest indication yet of the direction KGM is taking with its next-gen truck.
KGM says the decision to retain the Musso name reflects its intention to strengthen the pickup brand’s identity, aligning the vehicle name with the wider Musso sub-brand for the first time. Although the outgoing Musso has built a loyal following in the UK, the new model is positioned as a more assertive and upmarket evolution rather than a simple facelift.
The latest images suggest a heavy redesign of the current truck rather than a clean-sheet replacement, with familiar proportions carried over but wrapped in a far more modern and imposing exterior.
Tougher, more modern design.
At the front, the new Musso adopts a bold, upright look defined by a squared-off bumper, prominent radiator grille and slim lighting elements. KGM describes the design language as “Powered by Toughness”, with an emphasis on solid surfaces and strong horizontal lines that underline the truck’s working-vehicle credentials.
Along the sides, pronounced character lines and chunky wheel arch detailing give the Musso a more muscular stance than before, while the rear features vertical LED tail-lights and large ‘KGM’ branding stamped across the tailgate. The overall effect is more contemporary and more confident, bringing the Musso visually closer to class leaders such as the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux.
We haven’t seen the interior yet, but expect something broadly similar to the KGM Actyon SUV.
‘Grand Style’ package adds choice.
One of the key announcements alongside the images is the availability of a new ‘Grand Style’ package. This optional upgrade introduces a differentiated front-end design intended to give the Musso a more urban, premium look, aimed at buyers who split their time between work duties and city driving.
According to KGM, the Grand Style option is designed to broaden the Musso’s appeal, allowing customers to choose between a more traditional off-road aesthetic or a cleaner, more luxury-leaning appearance without compromising the underlying pickup format.
What we know so far, and what we don’t.
While KGM has yet to confirm hard figures, the next-generation Musso is expected to retain the core working credentials that have defined the model to date. That likely means a one-tonne payload and a 3.5-tonne towing capacity, ensuring it remains viable for owner-operators, farmers and small businesses.
Diesel power from the familiar 2.2-litre engine is also expected to remain part of the line-up, setting the new Musso apart from the smaller Musso EV, which targets the lifestyle end of the market rather than heavy-duty commercial use.
Pricing has not been announced, but given the move upmarket and the more sophisticated design, an increase over the current model looks inevitable. Based on early indications, entry prices in the region of £35,000 plus VAT would not be surprising, with higher-spec versions edging closer to £40,000.
