Kia has shared the last few teaser images of its first-ever pickup truck, the Kia Tasman, before its official debut at the Jeddah International Motor Show later this month.

The new images give us a glimpse of the Tasman’s sturdy and straightforward shape. It looks like it’s built for the job — practical and tough enough to handle a variety of conditions but without sacrificing luxury.

Kia says the Tasman is designed to handle both work and play, aiming to avoid the common drawbacks of other pickups. It’s meant to offer real utility, making day-to-day tasks easier while also catering to outdoor adventures and more.

The truck is being pitched with the slogan ‘Dive into a New Dimension,’ which hints at its off-road capabilities and a list of features Kia says include its ‘revolutionary design, adaptability and safety’.

Kia has been in the automotive business for 50 years, working on everything from specialised military vehicles to off-roaders. The Tasman borrows some of that know-how, including off-road tech from the US-market Kia Telluride.

The Tasman has been put through its paces in Kia’s ‘One More Round’ testing series. That involved 1,777 tests across more than 18,000 cycles, from off-road challenges to towing and handling trials. It’s clear they’re keen to prove it’s up for anything.

The Kia Tasman will be unveiled on 29 October at the Jeddah International Motor Show. If you’re curious, you can watch the event live on Kia’s YouTube channel at 10am Saudi time (7am UK).

There’s just one bit of bad news — the Tasman isn’t coming to the UK anytime soon, despite how popular our site statistics show it to be. But with the lifestyle-friendly eTerron 9 and workhorse T90 Max from Maxus and KGM’s electric O100 set to arrive here imminently, there’s still plenty to look forward to in the pickup market.
