Maxus has unveiled its eDeliver 7 van, set to rival the likes of the Ford E-Transit Custom and Vauxhall Vivaro Electric. The new model — revealed at the Commercial Vehicle Show — bridges the gap between the smaller eDeliver 3 (a rival for the Renault Kangoo E-Tech and Vauxhall Combo Electric) and the larger Ford E-Transit-rivalling eDeliver 9 panel van.

Available with a choice of two battery packs measuring 77 or 88kWh, the eDeliver 7 promises a range of up to 226 miles on a single charge. Energy is sent to an electric motor mounted at the front of the van that produces 204hp and 330Nm of torque — enough to accelerate to 62mph in 11 seconds, according to Maxus. Recharging the battery to 80% takes 43 minutes on a suitable rapid charger, which suggests that the eDeliver 7 can take charge at a rate of 100kW.

In the relatively modern cabin, drivers will find a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system included as standard, with both Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity available. Safety technology will include blind spot detection, lane change assist, automatic emergency braking, fatigue monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.

Maxus eDeliver 7: Cargo Volume and Payload

Maxus is making the eDeliver 7 available in two body lengths and two heights, with cargo volumes ranging from 5.9m3 to 8.7m3. Payload limits will be set at 1,200kg for the entry-level L1H1 model, dropping to 1,025kg for the L2H2 models with the larger 88kWh battery pack. With kerb weights from 2,300kg, this gives a gross vehicle weight of 3.5 tonnes.

Maxus eDeliver 7: Pricing and Availability

Pricing will be announced in June 2023, although we expect to see a starting price around the £45,000 plus VAT mark. Customers will be able to place orders from August 2023, with first deliveries expected soon after.
