Maxus is to launch its new eDeliver 7 van next year. The new pure electric van will slot between the brand’s compact eDeliver 3 and the full-size eDeliver 9 electric models.

Expected to arrive with a 74kWh battery pack, the new Maxus eDeliver 7 is pitched to go head-to-head with the forthcoming Ford e-Transit Custom. Dimensions are nearly identical to the existing model, with a length of 4,998mm (26mm longer than the short wheelbase Transit Custom) and a width of 2,030mm (44mm wider).

Available in two wheelbase lengths and two roof heights, the cargo volume is expected to be between 7.2 and 9.8m3, depending on the vehicle’s specification.

Our images here show the diesel-powered Maxus V70, the Chinese-market version of the new model designed to carry up to nine passengers. British customers will still get the sharp design — possibly inspired by the Hyundai Staria — and sliding side doors, but Maxus will offer only electric power. The diamond-shaped holes for the griller are expected to remain, as are the matrix LED headlights, vertically-mounted tail lights and high-level LED strip at the top of the rear door.

Inside, the cabin follows the traditional three-seat setup, with a driver’s seat and a separate twin-passenger bench. A conventional dashboard is enlivened by a large tablet-like infotainment screen mounted high up on the dashboard.

The eDeliver 7 is Maxus’s third pure electric van, with the manufacturer also producing the T90EV electric pickup truck. The largest model, the eDeliver 9 is also available with diesel power, but this is expected to be dropped in 2025, with Maxus focussing purely on EVs.
