Vauxhall has cut its van range, dropping 20% of its variants and creating a simpler LCV model range with lower prices and improved equipment levels. There’s even a new sporty-looking Vivaro model.

Electric models have been rebadged, moving from Combo-e, Vivaro-e and Movano-e to Combo Electric, Vivaro Electric and Movano Electric.

New Trim Levels

Customers can now choose from Prime and Pro variants of the Combo and Vivaro vans, replacing the outgoing Dynamic, Sportive, Elite, and Edition trims. Movano vans will only be available in the Prime trim level, with no Pro option.

Entry-level Prime specification models feature updated technology and now come standard with a touchscreen display and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Combo Prime models feature an 8.0-inch touchscreen, while Vivaro and Movano models get 7.0- and 5.0-inch screens, respectively.

Combo and Vivaro Prime models feature automatic headlights as standard, while Vivaro Prime models also come with automatic windscreen wipers. Vivaro Prime and Movano Prime models come with rear parking sensors for added convenience.

Higher specification Pro models add satellite navigation with three years of traffic updates across Combo and Vivaro models, and a rear-view camera. Confusingly, Movano models are sold exclusively in Prime trim yet are fitted with satellite navigation as standard. Combo Pro and Vivaro Pro models also come with Vauxhall’s ‘FlexCargo’ load-through bulkhead, while Combo Pro models also feature rear parking sensors.

Despite the range simplification, Vauxhall couldn’t resist fiddling a little and has taken this opportunity to introduce the Vivaro GS in both diesel and electric forms. Featuring striking styling updates and an upgraded interior, the Vivaro GS reintroduces the 180hp 2.0-lite diesel model, while the Vivaro Electric GS uses the same 136hp motor as the rest of the Vivaro Electric range.

Option Packs

If the standard specification of Prime and Pro models isn’t enough, Vauxhall has introduced several option packs for its LCV range.

The Design Pack adds body colour exterior cladding and wheel covers, while the Safety Pack adds driver assistance features such as lane keep assist, speed sign recognition, automatic emergency braking and driver monitoring. This includes adaptive cruise control and blind spot alert on Vivaro models.

Enhanced ground clearance is provided in the Worksite Pack, alongside IntelliGrip, a full-size spare wheel and an engine protection plate.

Combo customers can also specify the Cargo Pack, which adds a FlexCargo load-through bulkhead and bench seat, storage hooks, LED interior lights and an electronic parking brake.

Pricing and Availability

The streamlined trim structure comes with some significant savings. Each Combo variant now costs £1,800 less than before, while Vivaro models are reduced by £3,000 across each model. The most significant price reduction is on Movano models, with prices decreased by £7,500 across variants.

All three new model ranges are available to order now. Deliveries for the new Combo and Movano will begin in November this year, while the new Vivaro and Vivaro GS range will arrive in January 2023.
