Special Delivery: La Poste Receives the 4 Millionth Maubeuge-Made Renault Kangoo • Professional Pickup

Four million Renault Kangoo vehicles have rolled off the production line at the Maubeuge plant in France, with the milestone model being handed over to La Poste to mark a long-standing relationship between the two French companies.

The Renault Kangoo, introduced in 1997, is now available in 50 countries across the world, with 4.4 million units sold in total. While some are produced in Argentina for the South American market, the bulk have been made in France, including SUV and van versions, driven by petrol, diesel and electric power.

The Kangoo Van, tailored for business use, features innovations like the “Open Sesame” door — a 1.45m wide opening that removes the pillar between the cabin door and side door, which is an innovation we don’t get in the UK — and the Easy Inside folding roof rack, making it an ideal commercial partner.

The Maubeuge plant, where all Kangoo models are built, including internal combustion and 100% electric versions, has been a hub of innovation and production efficiency. The facility also assembles batteries for the electric versions on-site.

La Poste, a historic customer of Renault for over a century, has been a pioneer in electric mobility, using electric vehicles since 1904. This partnership has been instrumental in Renault’s success in the electric light commercial vehicle sector. La Poste’s commitment to electric mobility is evident in its operation of the largest fleet of electric vehicles, primarily Kangoo ZE, since 2011.
