Renault Trucks is boosting its Red Edition range with the addition of the Trafic van. This high-specification range of light commercial vehicles combines exclusivity and comfort with practicality, according to Renault, with a good dash of style included too.
While the Renault Trucks Trafic Red Edition might look remarkably similar to the regular Trafic, the Red Edition label makes it stand out with a chrome grille and body-coloured bumper, together with a matching painted side door rail and light bar.
The distinction continues into the cabin too, with touches of colour that give a nod to the van being part of the exclusive range. The gear stick is ringed in red, the seat belts are red and, to complete the look, the wheel centre is painted in the same characteristic colour. The exterior comes in a choice of eight colours; Glacier White, Carmine Red, Magma Red, Highland Grey, Comet Grey, Urban Grey, Midnight Black and Cumulus Blue.
To finish the exterior aesthetic, the distinctive Renault Trucks nameplate is fixed to the bodywork, and additional exterior graphics are also available if you want to make it stand out from the crowd.
Flexible Trafic Van
The Renault Trucks Trafic Red Edition is available in 2.8-3.1 tonne versions, with two length and height options for the panel van. There are two double-cab models, a floor cab and two combi versions. The smallest of these variants is five metres in length, so it’s suitable for most urban parking spaces, while the low height models come in at under two metres allowing access to height-restricted areas that others might struggle with.
With a fully customisable load space, the Trafic Red has a maximum cargo capacity of 8.9m3 and a payload upper limit of 1,300kg. Getting to the cargo area Loading and unloading is easy thanks to rear doors that open to 270°, the flexibility to allow long loads to slot through a load hatch in the solid metal partition, and LED lighting to ensure it’s safe to work in all conditions. A 12V power socket is fitted in the back, and a tailgate, interior ladder rack and towing hooks with a capacity of up to 2.5 tonnes are available as optional extras.
Under the bonnet, there are four engines to choose from. They range from 110hp up to 170hp, all of which are coupled with an automatic gearbox as standard, although a manual gearbox is available as an option. Enhanced safety is also provided, thanks to a stability control system that is joined by front and rear radar, lane departure warning, side wind assist and blind-spot warning systems.
If you’re unlikely to always have all four wheels firmly on the tarmac you’ll be pleased to know that Renault’s Extended Grip system is included too, improving the van’s off-road abilities.
