Renault has given its Trafic panel van a significant update to keep it competitive in an ever-improving market. Available to order now, the revised Trafic features an updated front end, improved engines and driver support systems, and a major overhaul of the cabin.
Exterior Design
A set of LED headlights with distinctive C-shaped daytime running lights highlights the upright grille and redesigned bumper, which Renault says reinforces its ‘robust and expressive’ style.
New 17-inch alloy wheels feature on Sport models, with diamond cut variants on the Sport+ specification. Business and Business+ models make do with new wheel covers.
A new radio antenna and Cumulus Blue paint option round off the changes.
Interior Overhaul
A new dashboard design is defined by a horizontal trim feature that stretches across the width of the cabin and into the door panels, giving a sense of space and width. The instrument panel features additional chrome detailing, along with the door panels and gear lever, boosting the sense of quality and refinement.
You’ll now find practical and luxurious touches wherever you look; electrically folding door mirrors, wider armrests, 84 litres of cabin stowage space, and Renault’s impressive folding middle seat. This transforms the cabin into a mobile office, with enough space for a laptop and an A4-size swivel stand to hold working documents.
Technology is boosted in the update, with the 8.0-inch infotainment system featuring both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as integrated navigation, a DAB radio and Bluetooth connectivity. There’s also a wireless phone charger and three USB ports to ensure your devices always remain fully charged.
Updated Engines
A full range of improved Blue dCi diesel engines are available for the revised Trafic, with four powertrain options ranging from 110 to 170 horsepower, each offering more torque for stronger pulling power.
The 110, 130, 150 and 170hp units are coupled with a manual transmission, while the 150 and 170hp engines also have the option of a dual-clutch automatic gearbox. All engines meet the latest Euro 6D-Full emissions standards and are equipped with automatic Stop & Start to reduce fuel consumption.
Payload and Cargo
A choice of body lengths and heights are available, with short and long-wheelbase panel vans available with low or high roof heights, while a long-wheelbase crew van is also available offering greater passenger accommodation as well as a generous loading area.
The Trafic’s loading area offers enhanced practicality and security, thanks to the longest load length in the segment. When specified in L2 length, the Trafic offers a maximum load length of 4.15m thanks to a hatch in the bulkhead that unlocks extra load length beyond the bulkhead – ideal for long, if not bulky, loads.
The cargo area can be locked or unlocked separately from the cabin, via a useful zoning mode on the ignition key or handsfree key card. To make life easier for deliveries or accessing tools in the load area, optional LED interior lighting provides five times more brightness than standard halogen lamps.
Safety Kit
The Renault Trafic features a host of driver assistance systems and safety features, all intended to improve a driver’s time on the road and get them home safely.
Among the features available are adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning, automatic emergency braking, traffic sign recognition with over speed alert, driver attention alert and automatic high and low beam for the full LED lights.
Aiding manoeuvres are front, rear and side parking sensors, plus a rear parking camera.
Price and Availability
Customers have a choice of 44 available versions, In panel van form, the New Trafic is available two lengths and two heights, with four engine options, two gearbox choices and four trim levels.
Prices start from £25,200 plus VAT, with hire purchase rates available from £370 per month. Renault’s five year PRO+ Promise is also available for one mone monthly payment and includes five years 0% finance, five years or 100,000 miles servicing, five years or 100,000 miles of warranty cover, and five years roadside assistance.
