Stellantis used this year’s Solutrans show in Lyon to highlight a raft of electric van and conversion updates, but the development most likely to matter for UK operators is a new modular racking concept created with Sortimo.

The SRS – Sortimo Rail System – made its world debut on a Peugeot E-Expert demonstrator and introduces a tool-less, rail-based fitting system that allows shelving units to be added, removed or repositioned in minutes. The system uses pre-installed rails on the floor and side panels, enabling trades and fleet operators to reconfigure the load area without specialist installers or downtime.

For fleets running multi-role vans or high-churn vehicles, the appeal is obvious: racking can be moved between vehicles at end-of-life, shared between departments or stored when not needed. With Sortimo already well-established in the UK, the SRS system is expected to make its way into the British market once production begins.

Alongside the SRS debut, Stellantis also showcased its CustomFit programme, which enables factory-installed van conversions with consistent quality standards.

The manufacturer also highlighted extended warranty cover of up to eight years on some models fitted with CustomFit equipment. Stellantis already provides a service-activated eight-year warranty on several passenger cars, and a similar structure for vans is thought to be under consideration for the UK, although it has not yet been confirmed.

Beyond conversions, Stellantis used the show to outline work on future energy technologies, including Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) capability for models such as the Citroen e-Dispatch, Fiat E-Scudo, Peugeot E-Expert, and Opel Vivaro Electric — the latter badged as a Vauxhall in the UK. The functionality will launch first in France in 2026, but there is currently no confirmed UK timetable.
