Nissan has revealed its all-new Townstar, a compact light commercial vehicle (LCV) available in both electric and petrol-powered versions. This next-gen LCV is the most technologically advanced van from Nissan yet and builds on the success of the Nissan e-NV200.
It will be the first LCV to wear the new Nissan brand logo, with the electric model also reflecting the aesthetic cues of Ariya, including signature LED headlamps and an aerodynamic front shield integrating an intricate Kumiko pattern and a fresh V-motion design with daytime running lamps.
Petrol-powered models share a similar sharp and dynamic look, thanks to its interlock grille. It will also integrate ‘air-curtains’ integrated to optimise airflow around the front bumper and front wheels, reducing drag and optimising fuel consumption.

Nissan Townstar: Two Powertrain Options
The Nissan Townstar will be available with a 1.3-litre petrol engine, meeting the latest Euro 6d-Full emissions regulations, delivering 130hp and 240Nm of torque.
Alternatively, the electric Townstar comes with a 44kWh battery with advanced technology, including intelligent energy management and effective battery thermal cooling, offering 245Nm of torque and a range of 177 miles — a significant 43% improvement over the e-NV200.
Nissan Townstar: Safety and Infotainment
The Townstar integrates 20+ technology features, including safety technologies and advanced driver assistance features such as sidewind assist, trailer sway assist, automatic emergency braking featuring pedestrian and cyclist detection, hands-free parking and adaptive cruise control.
With the integration of the Around View Monitor, a first in the compact van segment, drivers can now enjoy a 360-degree view of their surroundings, ideal for city parking.
Nissan Townstar: Cargo Volume and Payload
The Townstar offers versatile configurations, making it a reliable, comfortable, and efficient business mobility partner. It provides up to 4.3m3 of cargo space, capable of transporting two Euro pallets and up to 800kg of cargo. Towing limits reach as high as 1,500kg.
The cargo area integrates large sliding doors on the side and 60/40 French doors at the rear that open to 180 degrees.
Nissan Townstar: Price and Availability
Nissan hasn’t announced specific pricing details, but we expect the electric model to cost from around £30,000. First deliveries are expected early in 2023.
Each model will be covered by a pan-European 5-year or 100,000-mile warranty, with the electric version receiving an additional eight-year or 100,000-mile battery warranty.
