International Motors has agreed to purchase The Colt Car Company’s aftersales business with the new subsidiary continuing to trade, as it has done for many years, under the Mitsubishi Motors in the UK name.
International Motors is the official UK importer for Isuzu vehicles and the addition of the Mitsubishi aftersales business represents an opportunity to grow its parts and accessories operation.
Following the announcement that Mitsubishi will be pulling its business out of the UK, bringing an end to new sales of the L200 pickup and the Shogun Sport commercial 4×4, International Motors moved to secure the aftersales business.
Mitsubishi drivers will see no difference in the standards of service they receive and can continue to rely on their local Mitsubishi dealer for aftersales support. In the autumn it is anticipated that most Mitsubishi dealers will transition to become Mitsubishi Service Centres.
The Mitsubishi aftersales business will operate independently within IM Group from its current base in Cirencester, once the purchase is completed on 1 October 2021. Ensuring a consistent standard of service to customers and Service Centres is maintained at all times, it will be staffed by the existing and experienced Mitsubishi aftersales team members, headed up by Toby Marshall who has been a director at Mitsubishi Motors in the UK for over 12 years.
