Mercedes-Benz is upgrading its medium-sized vans, which means the Vito and eVito will benefit from visual updates and a cabin refresh with new technology.
Mercedes is pursuing a premium strategy for its commercial vans before introducing its upcoming modular and scalable Van Electric Architecture from 2026 onwards. With a range covering a vast array of customers, from luxury camping with the V-Class Marco Polo to cost-focussed multi-drop delivery vans like the eVito, Mercedes will offer suitable choices to ensure businesses, families and adventurers are kept happy.
Exterior Changes
Despite still looking fresh, Mercedes has updated the Vito and eVito with a more distinctive front end. The new design embodies a striking radiator grille above a revised, muscular bumper.
At the rear, the bumper and newly designed LED lights create a unique aesthetic, with the contour of the rear lights being darkened to create a more recognisable light signature.
High-Tech Cabin Update
More work has gone on inside the van, with the Vito and eVito’s cabin getting a significant digital makeover.
A new instrument panel sits in front of the driver, with a 5.5-inch screen flanked by traditional analogue dials. In the centre of the dashboard sits a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, the modern screen replacing the vast swathes of grey plastic in the current model.
MBUX
(Mercedes-Benz User Experience) is installed for the first time on the Vito range. The system makes personalised suggestions for infotainment, comfort and vehicle functions, with drivers able to link their own profile to the van — up to seven profiles can be synchronised on each vehicle, with each recording items such as the user’s last navigation destination or favourite radio station.
As well as being controlled by the touchscreen or using the touch panels on the steering wheel, the MBUX system also comes with voice recognition. Barking ‘Hey Mercedes’ into thin air sets the system into action, with the van able to control various functions around the vehicle and operate the infotainment system and navigation.
Among other new equipment, some of which are optional, you’ll find wireless phone charging, a keyless start function, a heated steering wheel, and an electric parking brake.
Safety Upgrades
The revised Vito and eVito feature a selection of new and improved safety systems. The Active Brake Assist system now includes an intersection function and can warn of crossing or oncoming vehicles and dangerous overtaking manoeuvres. It will also intervene in an emergency and provide support when turning.
Safety technology fitted as standard in the vans includes driver alertness monitoring, automatic headlights now with rain sensors, cruise control, blind spot assist, lane keeping assist, speed assist and a reversing camera.
Adaptive cruise control with route-based speed adjustment and extended automatic restarting in traffic jams, along with active steering assist and speed limit assist, is available as an option. A 360-degree camera is available to make manoeuvring easier. A parking package adds parking assist, rear cross-traffic alert, pedestrian-detecting emergency braking and drive-away assist.
Improved Charging Infrastructure
The eVito will also receive access to the Mercedes Me Charge service at a later date. It offers customers access to a European public charging network with over 500,000 charging points, including the Ionity fast-charging network. The van will be equipped with Plug & Charge, so drivers can charge without worrying about making payment, as the charging station communicates directly with the vehicle via the charging cable and bills any energy used to the account holder directly.

The more mature luxury positioning of the EQV and V-Class and the sharpened premium character of the eVito and Vito will enable us to increase our focus on high-margin regions and industries.”
