Maxus has added a new dealership to its growing retail network, with Lloyd Maxus opening for business in Dumfries. The new site is operated by Lloyd Ltd, a long-established dealer group with outlets across northern England and southern Scotland.
The Dumfries franchise is part of Maxus’s wider plan to expand its UK coverage through established regional partners.
Located on Tinwald Downs Road, just off the A75, Lloyd Maxus will provide sales, service and parts support for the full Maxus light commercial vehicle range. The workshop includes 13 technicians, three of whom are completing electric-vehicle accreditation, along with diagnostic equipment and scalable charging infrastructure. The site also holds a stock of genuine Maxus parts to support aftersales operations.
Harris Maxus said the latest appointment was part of a “strategic network expansion programme” designed to give customers greater access to localised support and fleet solutions. The company’s dealer network has grown steadily during 2024 and 2025 as it seeks to increase visibility across the UK.
Lloyd Ltd was established in 1964 as an agricultural machinery dealer in Carlisle and has since expanded into construction, groundcare, and materials-handling sectors. The business operates nine branches across the north of England and south of Scotland.
Dealer principal Stuart Dalton said the addition of Maxus “complements our business perfectly” and described aftersales as the cornerstone of the group’s operations. “Our customers depend on their equipment and vehicles for their livelihoods – we properly understand what uptime means,” he said. “That’s why we’ve invested in skilled people, EV training and full parts support from day one.”
Dalton added that Lloyd Ltd runs Maxus vans within its own operations, including a Deliver 9 parts van that has covered more than 50,000 miles in six months. “The fact we rely on them ourselves speaks volumes about the brand,” he said.
Harris Maxus UK said the Dumfries opening continues its expansion strategy and will strengthen coverage for customers in south-west Scotland.
