Isuzu has confirmed price details for the new D-Max EV, the UK’s first electric pickup to combine four-wheel drive, a one-tonne payload, and a 3.5-tonne towing capacity.
Prices start at £59,995 plus VAT for the base eDL40 Extended Cab, rising to £60,995 for the Double Cab version, and £62,495 for the range-topping eV-Cross. Pre-sales will open later in 2025, with the first vehicles due to arrive in February 2026.
While not the first electric pickup to reach the UK market, the D-Max EV is the first to offer true work-ready commercial credentials, directly challenging diesel rivals on capability rather than price.
Zero emissions, maximum capability
Revealed earlier this year at the 2025 Commercial Vehicle Show, the D-Max EV features a dual-motor, full-time four-wheel drive system powered by a 66.9kWh battery good for 163 miles of range.
The setup delivers a combined 190hp (140kW) of power backed by 325Nm of torque, with Isuzu claiming it retains the same no-nonsense durability as the diesel model.
That means a full 1,000kg payload, a 3,500kg towing limit, and off-road features including Rough Terrain Mode. All models come with underbody protection, Bi-LED headlights, parking sensors front and rear, and a minimum six-speaker sound system.
D-Max EV trim levels and specification
The D-Max EV will be available in two trim levels – eDL40 and eV-Cross – both already well-known from the diesel range.
The eDL40 Extended Cab comes in at £59,995, offering a slightly longer load bed but with a more compact cab than the typical double-cab models. The Double Cab version is priced at £60,995 and adds rear passenger space with full-size doors. Both get chrome styling, an 8.0-inch infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, and heated leather seats.
The eV-Cross, at £62,495, adds larger 9.0-inch infotainment, a premium 8-speaker audio system, dark grey styling accents, and an exclusive Dolomite White Pearl paint option.
Diesel vs EV: A steep jump in price
Compared to their diesel counterparts, the EV models carry a significant price premium. The diesel-powered D-Max DL40 Double Cab is priced at £39,400 plus VAT, while the V-Cross is £40,900. That puts the equivalent electric versions at around £21,500 more before any government incentives.
Interestingly, the EV range introduces a DL40 Extended Cab option not available in the current diesel lineup. Diesel buyers looking for an Extended Cab must instead opt for the more basic Utility trim.
Despite the price jump, Isuzu is positioning the D-Max EV as a serious tool for businesses looking to decarbonise without giving up payload or towing performance.

Right-hand-drive demonstrator vehicles will be made available to fleet customers ahead of launch. Pre-orders will open later in 2025, with first UK arrivals expected in February 2026 and customer deliveries starting in March.
The D-Max EV will be distributed through Isuzu’s UK dealer network and backed by the same servicing support as the diesel range.
