Ineos has launched the Grenadier Quartermaster Chassis Cab, a stripped-back version of its recently introduced pickup. Developed alongside the Quartermaster, this five-seater double-cab version is aimed firmly at specialist vehicle converters and commercial bodybuilders.
The Chassis Cab has been engineered to deliver both off-road capability and load-carrying versatility, with all the comfort, safety, refinement and features that Grenadier drivers have come to expect.
“In the first year since the Grenadier launched, we have already seen a number of specialist conversions, particularly with emergency services such as fire, police and inshore rescue,” explained George Ratcliffe, commercial director at Ineos Automotive. “Launching the Quartermaster Chassis Cab is a natural step that takes our off-road expertise into many commercial areas that need a class-leading 4×4.”
The Grenadier Quartermaster Chassis Cab shares the 3,227mm wheelbase of the Quartermaster pickup but leaves the ladder frame exposed behind the passenger cabin. This means that customers and vehicle converters have myriad buddy-building options for aftermarket adaption. The ‘blank canvas’ allows for great versatility, from the basic tray back for agricultural use through recovery and emergency services to tourism, with an ideal platform for an overlanding camper.
Every Grenadier Quartermaster Chassis Cab will be built at the Ineos Automotive facility in Hambach, France, on the same production line as the Grenadier SUV and Grenadier Quartermaster pickup. All variants share components, including the five-seater double cab, solid beam axles, full box-section ladder frame chassis, two-speed transfer case, and up to three locking differentials are common in both the Quartermaster Chassis Cab and the Quartermaster.
As with the Grenadier SUV and Quartermaster pickup, the Chassis Cab is powered by either a BMW 3.0-litre turbo-charged inline six-cylinder petrol or diesel engine, which drives all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF.
George Ratcliffe, commercial director at Ineos Automotive, added: “The Grenadier’s body-on-frame construction already provides huge versatility for customisation, and we know from customer configurations that our vehicles are being used equally between commercial and leisure users.”
Prices for the Quartermaster Chassis Cab will start at £53,180 plus VAT.
