Ford Pro, the commercial vehicle division of Ford, has unveiled the Ranger Tremor pickup, a high-end off-road model that expands the next-gen Ranger series and features an innovative flexible rack system — a first-of-its-kind in its segment.
Aimed at customers who demand increased performance in demanding off-road environments, the Ranger Tremor has undergone significant modifications, with upgraded suspension that includes advanced Bilstein dampers as a standard feature. The pickup also comes with off-road-oriented driver assistance systems, instilling confidence, while its rugged appearance reflects its proficiency in tough conditions.
The new model is based on the well-equipped XLT model, aimed at the commercial market, but shares the same upgrades as the new Wildtrak X variant. The Ford Ranger Raptor remains a halo model, offering ultimate off-road performance.
Ford Ranger Tremor: The Changes
Using the robust foundation of the hard-working Ranger XLT, the new Ranger Tremor shares the chassis and technology upgrades, along with the all-wheel drive system from the new Wildtrak X. This setup is particularly suitable for customers who seek enhanced off-road capabilities and a greater sense of assurance when venturing off the beaten path.
By revising the suspension geometry, the Ranger Tremor achieves a more robust and stable stance, further accentuated by the increased track and extended arch mouldings. A long-leg tubular sports bar adds to the vehicle’s adventurous appearance and is included as a standard feature.
Cast aluminium side steps and exposed twin front tow hooks further enhance the functional design. The unique Boulder Grey exterior details and darkened grille complete the model’s bold and distinctive look.
Inside, the seats and floor of the Ranger Tremor come with water-resistant, easy-to-clean vinyl trim. An optional pre-wired overhead switch pack includes six inputs for winches, LED light bars, and other equipment.
The Ranger Tremor is powered by Ford’s 2.0-litre EcoBlue bi-turbo diesel engine, which generates 500Nm of torque from 1,750rpm and 205hp, and is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The lab-tested WLTP fuel economy for this model is 27.4mpg, though actual fuel efficiency will vary depending on individual usage and driving style.
The vehicle also features an advanced full-time four-wheel drive system as a standard feature, which includes a set-and-forget mode designed to deliver optimal performance in any given driving scenario.
Flexible Rack System
Ford offers customers the option to equip their Ranger Wildtrak X with the Flexible Rack System, which consists of a sliding sports bar and a folding roof rack that can support long items weighing up to 80kg. The system allows the rear load hoop to move along the load box, freeing up space for other cargo and improving load security. This feature will be available as an option for Ranger Limited and Wildtrak series starting in March 2023.

The introduction of the Tremor follows the Ford Ranger’s exceptional sales performance in Europe last year, achieving a record market share of 44.9% and an impressive year-on-year share growth of 18%, concluding eight consecutive years of segment leadership.
Interested customers can start placing orders for the Ranger Tremor in March 2023, with deliveries scheduled to commence in August 2023.
