Toyota is reintroducing the Land Cruiser Commercial, launching a new version of the 4×4 workhorse as a halo model for the Toyota Professional range. Based on the latest-generation Land Cruiser SUV, the new commercial variant is a UK-specific conversion built at Toyota’s Burnaston factory in Derbyshire.
The single-model range is offered in long-wheelbase, five-door form, and features a factory-built cargo area in place of the rear seats. The load bay provides up to 2,000 litres of usable space, and measures 1,685mm long and 1,286mm wide, with a maximum height of 1,090mm available — that’s enough room for a Euro pallet to slide into.
Payload details have not yet been confirmed, but towing capacity is rated at 3.5 tonnes.
To meet its commercial credentials, Toyota has removed the rear seats, added interior steel panels to blank the rear windows, and installed a full-height metal bulkhead with a mesh top section. The floor is protected with an edge-to-edge tray designed for tough use.
Unlike previous Land Cruiser Commercial models, the new version is well-equipped from the outset. Standard spec includes 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated seats and steering wheel, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a power tailgate with opening window, and a 9.0-inch multimedia screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Toyota’s full Safety Sense suite is also fitted, featuring blind spot monitoring, safe exit assist, and front and rear parking sensors, amongst others.
The Land Cruiser Commercial will be powered by Toyota’s familiar 2.8-litre diesel engine, which is also fitted to the Hilux pickup, producing 204hp. It’s paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and drives power to a permanent all-wheel-drive system with selectable drive modes. Off-road capability is enhanced by systems such as crawl control, hill-start assist, and hill descent control.

The Toyota Land Cruiser Commercial is priced from £51,729, excluding VAT, and will go on sale from 1 August. First deliveries are expected in September.
