KGM has confirmed the arrival of a new player in the commercial 4×4 segment with the launch of the Rexton Commercial, which will be revealed at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC in Birmingham.
Taking aim at the likes of the Toyota Land Cruiser Commercial, Land Rover Defender Hard Top and Ineos Grenadier Commercial, the Rexton Commercial promises to blend rugged go-anywhere capability with van-like practicality and a surprisingly premium spec.
Built on the same platform as the KGM Rexton SUV, the new commercial version is designed to offer operators a car-derived van with proper off-road chops and serious towing credentials, thanks to its 3.5-tonne braked towing capacity, selectable 4WD system, and a robust ladder-frame chassis.

“The all-new KGM Rexton Commercial … is designed to be a truly versatile “go-anywhere” tool for businesses,” said Kevin Griffin, managing director at KGM Motors UK, explaining that it “represents a step forward in our commercial vehicle line-up and fits alongside our award-winning Musso pickup truck perfectly … with some ‘nice to have’ home comforts as standard, that is also value for money, and tax efficient.”
The new model signals KGM’s growing investment in the commercial vehicle market, with the Rexton Commercial joining the Musso pickup in showrooms, and the fully electric O100 compact pickup on the horizon.

Practical load-lugger
While it might look like a plush SUV from the outside, the Rexton Commercial offers real commercial van credentials inside.
At 4.85m long and just under 2m wide, the Rexton Commercial is a sizeable machine, with a 1.9m-long carpeted load floor behind the fixed mesh bulkhead offering a 2,250-litre load area. There’s space for “several” Euro pallets, a payload of 750kg, and access via a top-hinged powered tailgate and side doors for added flexibility, with reinforced, opaque rear windows for security. A rubber mat is available as an optional accessory for added protection in the back.

The model is GB type-approved, meaning it’s eligible for commercial vehicle Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) taxation, VAT recovery, and capital allowances, which will keep businesses happy.

Power and performance
Under the bonnet, KGM has opted for a 2.2-litre diesel engine producing 202hp and 441Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Rexton runs primarily in rear-wheel drive, with selectable 4H and 4L modes allowing drivers to engage four-wheel drive when terrain demands it.
Thanks to its 2,140kg kerb weight, 350mm wading depth, and approach and departure angles of 20.5° and 22°, respectively, the Rexton Commercial is capable of handling rough tracks and towing trailers on the job site or the farm.
To support that capability, Trailer Sway Control comes as standard, helping maintain stability while hauling big loads.

Car-like comfort and tech
While the Rexton Commercial is designed for tough work, KGM hasn’t held back on creature comforts. All versions have a floating 12.3-inch infotainment display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, DAB radio, and a rear-view camera. Mid and top-spec models gain 360-degree cameras, Nappa leather seats, and rear climate control.
The K30 entry-level trim includes heated and ventilated faux leather seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a power tailgate. K40 adds premium leather, mood lighting and safety aids, while the K50 tops things off with 20-inch alloys, a sunroof, and leather-suede upholstery.
KGM says the Rexton Commercial is among the safest commercial vehicles in its class, thanks to its high-strength steel construction, with over 80% of the body built from high-tensile steel. It comes equipped with six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring, rain-sensing wipers, auto-locking doors, and reinforced safety glass.
Step up the trim levels and you’ll also find blind spot detection and rear cross-traffic warning systems on higher-spec models.
