Kia has announced that its second annual EV Day will take place on 27 February at the Tarraco Arena in Tarragona, Spain. Following last year’s inaugural event in Korea, this year’s gathering will focus on the company’s latest electric vehicle (EV) models, concepts, and platform developments.
The EV Day headline reveal will be the global debut of the Kia PV5, the first model in the brand’s new Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) range. Previously seen as a concept at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show, the PV5 is designed to be highly adaptable, with modular features aimed at different commercial and private applications. Kia is expected to outline its broader PBV strategy, detailing how it plans to integrate these vehicles into its growing electric lineup.
Alongside the PV5, Kia will also present the production version of the EV4 for the first time, a model shown in concept form at last year’s EV Day. The event will also see the unveiling of the Kia Concept EV2, a compact electric car designed to expand the company’s dedicated EV offerings.
Kia has hinted that it will showcase a new platform architecture at the event. Described as a ‘skateboard’ chassis, this battery-electric platform is designed to accommodate different vehicle bodies, offering greater flexibility for future EV and PBV — or Professional Business Vans in the UK — models.
Members of Kia’s senior leadership team will also provide updates on the company’s electrification strategy, outlining its plans for future models and its approach to addressing evolving market demands.
The first opportunity for UK buyers to see the Kia PV5 will be at the CV Show
being held at Birmingham’s NEC from 29 April until 1 May.
