Ringtons, a family-run tea merchant and long-standing partner of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, has just welcomed its first electric ID Buzz Cargo van to its existing 250-vehicle Volkswagen fleet.

Serving as part of its doorstep delivery service, its new Volkswagen ID Buzz Cargo will deliver high-quality Ringtons produce to customers across the UK. The pure-electric ID Buzz Cargo is a welcome addition as the company aims to reduce its environmental impact further.

Based in north-east England, Ringtons’ luxury tea, coffee and confectionary business provides their high-quality produce to retail and wholesale customers up and down the country, including renowned hotels, restaurants and businesses.

The Ringtons Volkswagen ID Buzz Cargo

“We have been looking forward to getting our hands on the ID Buzz Cargo since it was first announced a couple of years ago,” commented Stephen Killinger, operations manager at Ringtons. “I was lucky enough to be among the first customers to get behind the wheel, and aside from being really enjoyable to drive, as a carbon-neutral business, there are clear benefits to us in going all-electric. And is there a better electric van on the market currently? I don’t think so!”

Craig Cavanagh, national fleet manager at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, added: “We’re delighted that our long-term partner, Ringtons, has chosen us once again, welcoming its first all-electric ID Buzz Cargo van onto the fleet. To hear that over and above its clear sustainability credentials, the comfortable cabin and generous load space will enable Ringtons to provide the same, reliable delivery service they have become famous for is fantastic.”
