The highly anticipated Ineos Grenadier pickup — called the Grenadier Quartermaster — has been revealed, with the new model appearing in front of crowds at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Built alongside the Grenadier SUV at the firm’s factory in Hambach, France, the Quartermaster double-cab pickup promises the same impressive off-road capability as its SUV cousin while offering significantly more load-lugging practicality.
Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster Payload
The Quartermaster shares much with the Grenadier Station Wagon, but Ineos has extended the chassis by 305mm, leaving the pickup with a large cargo box that measures 1,564mm long and 1,619mm wide — a little shorter but a little wider than a Ford Ranger’s load bay.
The vehicle shares the same 3.5-tonne towing capacity as the Station Wagon, but payload is limited to just 760kg for diesel-powered models and 835kg for petrol-engined versions. The Quartermaster, therefore, doesn’t qualify as a dual-use vehicle, so business users aren’t automatically eligible to reclaim the VAT element.
The load bay features four tie-down rings, a 400-watt power take-off, an integrated mounting bar, and a 1,280mm wide tailgate that can support up to 225kg.
A range of tailored accessories will be available, with a frame and waterproof canvas canopy or a lockable roller tonneau cover available for the load bay. A roof rack increases carrying capacity and can be used with a wide range of mounts to carry gear such as jerry cans, sand ladders and shovels.
Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster Powertrain
As with the Grenadier Station Wagon, the Quartermaster pickup will be powered by BMW engines, with 3.0-litre diesel and 3.0-litre petrol options. Both are mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The petrol option develops 286hp, and 450Nm of torque, giving it impressive on-road performance, with the 0-62 mph dash completed in just 8.8 seconds. Diesel-powered Quartermasters produce 249hp and 550Nm, extending the sprint time to 9.9 seconds. Both models are limited to 99mph.
The Grenadier Quartermaster also rides on the same heavy-duty five-link front and rear suspension as the SUV and is fitted with Carraro-supplied solid beam axles complemented by powerful Brembo brakes and a recirculating ball steering system.

Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster Off Road Ability
A centre differential lock and a two-speed transfer case are fitted as standard, with optional front and rear diff locks available.
The Grenadier Quartermaster boasts class-leading off-road ability, with 264mm of ground clearance, an 800mm wading depth and approach, breakover and departure angles it claims are unrivalled by any other series production pickup.

Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster Pricing and Availability
The Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster pickup prices start at £66,215 for the entry point to the range — a roughly £8,000 premium over the SUV equivalent — with the same price point for both diesel and petrol power options.
The off-road focussed Trailmaster and lifestyle-friendly Fieldmaster models are priced at £73,715. The former benefits from front and rear locking differentials and BF Goodrich T/A KO2 all-terrain tyres, while the latter gains heated leather seats, roof-mounted ‘safari’ windows and a premium sound system.
Ineos dealers will be able to take orders from today, 13 July, with deliveries expected later in the year.
